Meta Titles and Descriptions
1. Introduction
1.1. What are these for us?
Meta information is crucial as it forms the first impression of a page. It’s visible in your browser tab, search results, and social shares. When crafting meta titles and descriptions, ensure they are descriptive to help users understand the content they’ll encounter.
2. How to use?
2.1. Meta title
The meta title appears in your browser tab and in search results. Please keep titles around 60 characters. (Use a character count tool to check your title length.)
2.1.1. Create titles in formats
a. “Turkish Airlines ® | Slogan” for the main page

b. “Page Title | Turkish Airlines ®”, for all the other pages

2.2. Meta description
The meta description provides more detail than the meta title and should be written like an advertisement to entice users to click. Rules to follow:
- Keep descriptions under 160 characters.
- Make the description compelling and informative, highlighting key content to attract clicks.
2.3. Meta keyword
Although it is not mandatory, if you’re designing an SEO oriented page do not hesitate to create meta keywords. The critical thing for meta keywords is to add all of the main target keywords of the page. We recommend you to add between 1-3 keywords. For example, “rent a car”, “auto rental”, “car rental”.
Rent a car
Auto rental
Car rental
2.4. Headings with keywords
Writing a heading for Turkish Airlines is always a job that you need to think multi-dimensionally. It is very important for the heading to include the target keyword so that we can appear before our users in Google searches.
- Use your intuition when writing and think about how you would search on Google.
- Then consult with the SEO department and make sure to get approval from them.

2.5. URL
Make them short. Don’t write extra subheadings. They all should include keywords.
